Buchstabenmuseum - Museum of Letters.

The Buchstabenmuseum (the Museum of Letters) is dedicated to preserving, restoring and exhibiting signage from Berlin and around the world. The museum - founded in 2005 by Barbara Dechant and Anja Schulze - researches the stories behind the signs, exploring the letters’ typographic qualities as well as delving into the manufacturing process. The museum was opened to the public in 2008.

  1. These images are fantastic. Not only are the texture and color catching at first, but the typefaces embody a quality of time and emotion without saying anything. I'd love to somehow shrink myself down and explore the negative space that occurs between the stacks of signs and letters. It is amazing.
