Terrace House 2,Vienna, Austria

Vienna, Austria, has fairly high standards regarding social housing. Especially the architect Harry Glück has raised the bar for high density apartment towers: each flat is connected with a private open space - a terrace.

The Residential-Park Alt–Erlaa is an impressive built example for the "green-city". The project consists of 3.500 units in four 70m high towers, each with a roof-top outdoor pool, connected by a mall providing sport and shopping facilities.

Since a couple of years the site even has its own subway station: Alt-Erlaa.

ok. a reincarnation of Mr Tanges 1960 metabolist proposal takes shape in Vienna... the designer( i doubt if he did any designing) is rapidly on the way to starchitectdom...but we are depleting, like fossils, our idea base and living the stores empty for the future generations....hence this is not impressive. we must aspire towards a sustainable alternative to this idea depletion... time beckonsx
