Since the 90s, Space Invaders mosaic images by a French anonymous artist have spread throughout more than 30 cities over 5 continents. The ceramic tiles images have now reached Vienna - on 52 spots! The artist's philosophy is that he is "leaving a gift to the city" - accordingly, each of his mosaics is exactly planned and documented.



The Space Invaders mosaics can be seen as an ornamental addition to the urban street space, like "Street Art", by using the urban landscape as a canvas. But maybe due to the worldwide appearance, these tiles images have become a friendly counterpart to the real invasion of logos and brand names in the urban realm.
