The first issue of domus d'autore, 'Post-Occupancy' (by OMA/AMO) is all about perception of built architecture.
"We looked through the eyes of tourists, trusted others to record. Away from the triumphalist or miserabilist glare of media, we wanted to see what happens in the absence of the author, to represent the realities we were complicit in creating post-occupancy, as facts, not feats." (Rem Koolhaas, in domus d'autore)How are buildings experienced - less physical, more visual? The spread of digital cameras in recent years has led to a new quantity of architectural photography - maybe more honest than usual illustration. Image pools like flickr make them viewable: Images by users.
